About the Course

Pumping is something all lactation and perinatal care providers should know about, but it's such a challenge keeping up-to-date with what works, what is on the market, and how to figure out what recommendations to give your clients. This course helps you support your clients with confidence! I've worked with thousands of lactating mothers who were struggling with the same issue: they had no idea their flange size was wrong. I watched them suffer through painful sessions, produce less milk than they were capable of, and feel defeated by what should have been a manageable part of their day. Way back in 2010, when I owned a maternity and parenting center and store, and sold 21mm flanges (made by Medela, even back then!), I saw how parents got more milk with those.  That was before I was an IBCLC..but I was an experience breastfeeding counselor, childbirth educator, and birth doula.  By 2018, I was an IBCLC and there were even smaller flanges on the market. Other IBCLCs and I were using them with our clients and seeing improvements!  I realized there was a huge gap in pumping education. No one was teaching the basics of flange fitting—and it was costing mothers their comfort, their confidence, and their milk supply. And causing babies to get less human milk. I eventually created the Flange FITS™ Guide to change that. Over the years, I've refined the Flange FITS™ Guide approach with real parents, real challenges, and real results. The people who use this guide (or this approach) don't just get comfortable—they get their power back. They pump efficiently, they get more milk, and they reclaim those precious hours they were wasting. She came to me using size 24mm flanges (what came with her pump).
